Super talented Ghanaian reggae dancehall artiste Charles Nii-Armah Mensah a.k.a Shatta Wale has made history for himself and Ghanaians as the first and only African to appear on New York Times Square 2 times in a single calendar year.

He first appeared earlier this year when he was made the headline act for the Tropical House, Cruises to Jamaica. An album compilation made by a music consortium of Contractor Music Group, Golden Child Records, Beatbopper Music and Kohanim Records.

Other artistes who are set to feature on the “EXPLOSIVE” album include Jamaican heavyweights like Beenie Man, Capleton, Sizzla, Elephant man, Mojo Morgan and Don Yute. The rest include Royce Da 59, Wayne Wonder, Peetah Morgan, Tommy Lee Sparta and many more.

The One Don has appeared again after excerpts and snapshots of his music video with American singer Beyoncé dubbed ”Already” surfaced online which is one of the most streamed tracks on the latter’s ”Lion King” album.

This has made Shatta Wale the only Ghanaian and African at large to appear twice on the famous New York Times Square in a year. However, some other African artistes have appeared on the screen multiple times but not in a single year.
